Supernatural is pretty awesome
As I’ve mentioned before, I bought a Meta Quest 2 headset after reading a review of Supernatural, an interactive exercise ‘game.’
I’m totally sold.
There are options for guided meditation, boxing workouts and what they call ‘flow,’ which is rhythmically hitting oncoming objects with a virtual bat in each hand.
Each session has a recording of a real-life coach introducing whatever comes next. Every once in a while there is an annoying one, but they are mostly non-offensive and are effective in keeping you motivated. The immersive landscapes they use as settings are in super high definition, and usually spectacular. Music varies, but I have found one workouts set to Linkin Park and others that do include the heavier music I actually listen to, like Pantera, Sevendust and Slipknot. I happily discovered one with Sepultura.
Even some of the sessions marked as Low intensity can be pretty hard. Medium is juuuuust more than I can keep up with. High is insane, with all sorts of shit flying at you at high speed. The workouts are fun and leave me drenched in sweat. Punching at nothing is actually pretty therapeutic. Like 400+ calories burnt therapeutic.
If I hadn’t deleted all of my social media accounts, I could link them. There is also an optional community to join, wherein you follow whomever you choose and compete via leaderboard.
